The point of the intervention is to redevelop the neighborhood of San Siro, in Milan, by creating a dynamic,engaging meeting place. With this project, the inhabitants should participate actively and build strong bonds in order to cut down racial barriers. Poverty and no safety in the streets are the main problems to find a place to get together and share moments.
Project
Urban Storage is the name of the symbol created to link people in a crumbling neighborhood by using the sharing philosophy. The storage is a sort of house for tools, domestic appliances and leisure objects, in order to increase sharing and exchanging practices, also reducing purchasing costs. Anyone can shield an object and lend it to a neighbour, or simply use it at that moment and maybe with another person present. A shelter for the community that can help residents to discover new interests and new friends among the local people.
